Library holds spring break activities

Planning a family “Staycation” for the upcoming spring recess? The Lewisboro Library has a number of activities planned to keep hands and minds busy. On Tuesday, March 26, at 1 p.m. we’re offering a “Forts & Castles” program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Using cardboard boxes, duct tape and art supplies, teams of three or four children will work together to build a fort or castle to display here at the library. All materials will be supplied.

Suzanne Lawson of “Music Together” will be here on Wednesday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m. to lead a demo class of her popular interactive early childhood music program. “Music Together” is a stimulating introduction to music for infants up to age 4, accompanied by a parent or caregiver. The kids at our library love scavenger hunts. On Thursday, March 28, at 3 p.m. we are hosting a “Character Quest” for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Teams of storybook detectives will search for characters “lost” within the library. Follow the clues to collect all the characters, and then the winning team will collect a prize.

Our spring recess week wraps up with a fun-filled “Spy Training Academy” on Friday, March 29, at 3 for first through fifth grade. Junior spies will learn to make invisible ink, create secret codes and maneuver an obstacle course.
