Lewisboro fire departments, ambulance corps sponsor toy drive

The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve has partnered with the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Goldens Bridge, South Salem and Vista fire departments to sponsor a Toys for Tots toy drive this holiday season.

Each year the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve partners with local organizations and others to collect items for Toys for Tots, which helps less fortunate children throughout the United States to experience the joy of Christmas.

Toys should be new and unwrapped and may be for any age. A drop-off day will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 9 to 5 at all of the sponsoring departments. Special arrangements for pickup may also be made by calling 203-856-6121. Monetary donations are also welcome and may be mailed to Toys for Tots directly at Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Gift Processing Administrator, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle VA 22172. You may also make a secure donation online at toysfortots.org.

The four local departments are also partnering with New York City and New Jersey to collect coats for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Coats may also be dropped off at the above locations on Saturday, Dec. 15. Coats may be new or “gently used.”
