At the Town Board work session on Jan. 14, Supervisor Peter Parsons said that he and a group of officials and volunteers had recently visited the Old Field Preserve in Waccabuc to inspect recent work that had been done in cleanup and brush removal. “It was a first-class job and a major step forward,” he said. “Thanks are due to everyone that pitched in to help.”
The town will next apply for a $2,600 grant for invasive plant control at the preserve, which is intended as a meadow habitat for birds and small animals, as well as for passive recreation.
