Thanks to Rose, McQuillan

Anyone drive by Cross River lately? Notice anything? We have ball fields! And as to why we have ball fields it’s due to the incredible generosity of Adam Rose and Peter McQuillan, and I, for one, would like to express my thanks. Their generosity and contributions to the community are a model for us all. In addition to giving our children a place to play competitive sports they have given us the Rose preserve to walk in and are true benefactors to numerous arts centers around the county. So join me at this time of year of giving to say thank you to Mr. Rose and Mr. McQuillan for the example they set and all they have done on our behalf.

In addition to thanking Mr. Rose and Mr. McQuillan for their generous donation of the field property, let’s not forget to thank the generous taxpayers for paying for the construction of the fields. Just think where our taxpayers money would have gone instead (programming, education, preventing staff layoffs), if we hadn’t been so generous with our tax dollars towards building brand new fields.

I would also like to thank Adam Rose and Peter McQuillan for their forward thinking gift of land for new fields to complement the beautiful and well maintained John Jay Middle /High School campus. When families are driving through the area while trying to decide on a community to move to this is a great attraction. Not only can the students use it but it is available to the entire community.
