Obituary: Elizabeth Roberts, 81, political coordinator

Elizabeth Roberts of Katonah died on Friday, Dec. 28, at Putnam Hospital. She was 81.

Ms. Roberts was born on July 25, 1931, in Ossining to the late William and Elizabeth Bange. She married Lawrence Roberts on Sept. 20, 1953, in the Church in the Highlands in White Plains.

Ms. Roberts will be remembered for her love of her family, home and garden, her family said. For many years she was active in the Parent-Teacher Association, Bedford Hills Women’s Club, Lewisboro Republican Committee, and Pound Ridge Women’s Republican Club. Before her retirement, she worked for state Sen. Vincent Leibell as his Westchester coordinator.

Ms. Roberts is survived by her son, Lawrence Roberts Jr. of Katonah; her daughter, Amy Sbarra, and her husband, Vincent, of Roswell, Ga.; and her granddaughters Brooke and Ashley Sbarra of Georgia. She was predeceased by her husband.

At Ms. Roberts’ request, there were no calling hours. Following cremation, burial will be private.
