Looking for family activity ideas for the holiday break? Remember that the Lewisboro Library has family museum passes for short-term borrowing. Passes are available for the Katonah Museum of Art, the Neuberger Museum of Art in Purchase (closed for renovation until early 2013), the Aldrich Museum in Ridgefield, Conn., and the Discovery Museum and Planetarium in Bridgeport, Conn. The free passes will admit a family of two adults and their children. Some restrictions apply. Passes may be borrowed for four days, and must be reserved in advance by calling the library at 763-3857.
These passes are available only to Lewisboro Library patrons. Please contact the library if you are interested in sponsoring a pass to a new museum to help expand our program. There are also a few museums that don’t do a free pass program but will offer discount entry to our library members. We have a discount pass to the Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk, Conn. Pass holders will receive one free admission with each regular paid admission, with a maximum of three free admissions per party, per day. We also have discount passes for the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. Pass holders will receive a $2 per person discount on an Adventure Pass (good for Aquarium admission and a Classic Imax movie). The pass discount may be used for up to six family members per visit. These discount passes may be checked out like our regular museum passes. In addition, we have worked out a deal to get our library patrons discount admission to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, N.J. Each person can get $3 off the price of admission simply by showing his or her library card. There is no pass to borrow.
