The Katonah-Lewisboro school district will provide resources for staff members and families following the Friday morning shooting in Newtown, Conn., that resulted in the deaths of 20 children and six adults.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Paul Kreutzer released this statement on Friday afternoon:
“We are aware that there has been an act of great violence in Newtown, Connecticut. We have been assured by the New York state police that Katonah-Lewisboro students, staff and residents are completely safe.
We will be providing available resources to help staff and families throughout this crisis. School psychologists and social workers will be available in all school buildings on Monday, Dec. 17. Additionally, we will post relevant information on our website to assist families in speaking with their children about a crisis of this nature.
Our hearts go out to all of our colleagues, friends and families, and particularly the children involved in this incident.”
