The combined boys swim and dive team from John Jay and Brewster opened the season on Tuesday by defeating Yorktown, 55-39.
The Indians were led by double winners Liam Hackett and Brian Valedon, with other wins turned in by Greg Markert and Kaz Sampson.
Hackett, a sophomore, took first in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, while Valedon, a freshman, won both the 200-yard individual medley and 500-yard freestyle.
Markert, a senior, was first in the 200-yard freestyle. Sampson, a freshman, won the 100-yard breaststroke.
Those four also made up relays teams that were first in the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team was also first with the team of senior Dan Fulop, freshman Evan Dodes, senior Mark Stein and sophomore David Batten.
Dodes was also second in the backstroke and third in the 200 free, while Batten was third in the 50 free and fourth in the breast stroke.
Sampson was also second in the 50 free and Fulop was second in the 100-yard butterfly. Markert was third in the fly. Senior Jamie Ring was fourth in both the 200 I.M. and 100 free. Freshman Brennan Melchiori was fourth in the 500 free.
This year’s team also features seniors Damon Alvarez and Kevin Pawlak, junior Isaac Silver-Frankel, freshmen Daniel Algiere, Maxwell Greene and Emanuel Santana, and Paul Farrell.
