The John Jay boys basketball team used a 19-4 run in the second quarter to build a 17-point halftime lead, and went on to defeat Hen Hud, 54-31, on Monday night at home.
The Indians (1-1) were led by Jack Weiller and Nick Kiger with 11 points each, Matt Bernstein with 10 points and Jack Paccione with nine points.
Weiller knocked down three three-pointers for John Jay and Bernstein had two treys.
The Indians led at halftime, 31-14.
Rounding out the scoring were Will Jahn with five points, Matt Stroud with three points, Scott Owen and Joe Kells with two points each, and Matt Palaccio with one point.
