The John Jay wrestling team finished sixth at the Patriot Invitational this weekend at John Jay East Fishkill.
The Indians were led by second-place finishes from Alex Lambiotte and Billy Gossett, while Alex Beresin, Ari Ray, Graham Bocklet, Louis Talia and Ethan Smith all placed fourth.
Brian Kershner finished sixth and Chris Kelly placed seventh, and Damien Franco, Giancarlo Geniso and Billy Patti all finished ninth.
The Indians knew going into the tournament that competition would be tough, as it featured top teams from Sections 1, 2 and 9.
“We came away in sixth place out of 12 teams and left our mark on the event, having every kid that we brought qualify for the finals round,” coach Bill Swertfager commented.
