The John Jay girls bowling team notched its first win in nearly two years, defeating Hen Hud 5-2 on Thursday at Cortlandt Lanes.
The Indians had lost 18 straight matches dating back to January 2011.
The girls were led by freshman Kayla Marschke, who bowled games of 141 and 135 in the victory. Freshman Sarah Raimondi had a 127 in the match-clinching third game.
Marschke had the high series with 383, followed by Hayley Nusbaum (303) and Gracie Skillman (302).
John Jay had 1,562 total pins to Hen Hud’s 1,520.
The girls improved to 1-3 in match play and 5-23 in the points standings.
The John Jay boys suffered a 7-0 loss to Hen Hud, falling to 0-4 in match play and 0-28 in the points standings.
Sophomore Connor Kenealy continued to lead the way, with the two high games (199, 169) and high series (495).
Ken Itoh had the third-high game (156) and second-high series (419), and Eric Jurmain had the third-high series (337).
Both John Jay teams suffered 7-0 losses to North Salem on Wednesday. The highlight was provided by Kenealy with a high game of 210.
